Boreal Worlds Interpretive Panels
The Boreal Worlds interpretive panels are located along popular non-motorized recreational trails throughout the very eco-rich green space between the Takhini and Porter Creek subdivisions. At the heart of this diverse and fragile ecosystem is McIntyre Creek and its associated wetlands.
In an effort to preserve the areas ecological, recreational, and educational values, the City of Whitehorse, Environment Yukon, Friends of McIntyre Creek, Yukon Conservation Society, Walmart Evergreen, and Yukon Fish and Wildlife partnered to establish the Boreal Worlds interpretive panels. The 13 panels detail a variety of habitats, botany, and natural elements that affect the landscape and influence the type of wildlife that live in the Boreal Forest.
